Philly TR's UFC Picks

For those of you that are into watching The Ultimate Fighting Championships, here are my picks for tonights event. I'm very excited for this one.

Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson: I'm going with the champ Anderson Silva on this one. This isn't an east pick. I think Dan has the skill to beat Anderson, but he's become more of a brawler and striker lately and less of a wrestler. Anderson's striking is top notch and super accurate, so unless Dan starts incorporating his wrestling into this match, he's gonna get beat. I see Dan being stubborn and trying to slug it out and getting knocked out by Silva in the 2nd round.

Heath Herring vs Cheick Kongo: Kongo is the favorite, but I'm picking Herring. Kongo is a one dimensional fighter who's shown horrible takedown defense in the past. If Herring comes in with a good game plan he can win this one. Herring by decision.

Yushin Okami vs Evan Tanner: I like Evan Tanner a lot, but he's been out for two years and Okami is a beast. A boring beast, but he's too strong for Tanner. Okami by decision.

Chris Wilson vs Jon Fitch: Jon Fitch has looked fantastic lately and although he may end up in some bad spots occasionally, he's so tough he gets through it and continues to put on the pressure. I don't see anything changing in this match, Jon Fitch by submission in the 3rd.

David Bielkheden vs Diego Sanchez: Never seen Bielkheden fight, so I'm going with Sanchez by decision.

Jake O'Brien vs Andrei Arlovski: Arlovski better win this one otherwise I'm officially off his bandwagon. KO in the first.

Luigi Fioravanti vs Luke Cummo: Luke Cummo

Dustin Hazelett vs Josh Koscheck: Josh Koscheck

Jon Halverson vs Jorge Gurgel: Another underdog pick, I'm going with Halverson. Jorge hasn't impressed me, ever.

Alessio Sakara vs Chris Leben: Not a Leben fan, but he hits harder than Sakara, so I'm gonna go with him.

No matter what, Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson always put on good fights, so the main event should be pretty amazing. If you don't normally watch this stuff, find a bar that's playing it and check it out, it's good times. -Philly TR

I'm not into that kind of sports...I personally love soccer (it's much more popular here in Germany than in the US), but my favourite team lost their match today...so I hope at least your favourites will win tonight!
Btw, I'm dying to hear the new song...so please upload it soon!!!

I'm a fan of the 1. FCN; N├╝rnberg is my hometown ;) They really need to win the next matches, otherwise they'll fall into 2nd league =/

Philly, you really know your stuff! You called those fights well beforehand! I only wonder whether Herring will pass his post fight drug test, he was lookinh a little too buff, where as usually he looks pudgy-ish. Joe Rogan nearly said as much when he came out! Although I'm no Serra fan, I've been telling friends that he will pull off and even BIGGER upset, and beat GSP again! I called the 1st upset and so I'm probably pushing my luck, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I should've listened to you Phil, I went 1-4 on my picks for saturday.

I love an underdog and I let it affect my choices. i really wanted to see tanner pull out a W. I hope he gets back in the cage soon. Maybe at a future UFC Fight Night and a rematch with Loiseau or maybe a fight with Jorge Rivera.
